Solo I – Live at Centro Cultural de Belém was recorded in November 2019 in Lisbon during a solo show by accordionist João Barradas. For the fully improvised performance, Barradas chose the setup of a recital – a format which he is familiar with and which is very dear to his heart.
This recording might be the most personal yet, and definitely a way to get more familiar with Barradas’ style and range of capabilities. Capturing the atmosphere in the room, the recording allows the listener to accompany the concert performed with both acoustic and midi accordion, being able to hear the artists’ breathing and footsteps as well as the audience’s reaction.
