Portrait is João Barradas’ third album, recorded with an international line-up of jazz heavyweights – Mark Turner on the saxophone, Simon Moullier and Luca Alemanno, both alumni of the Thelonious Monk Institute, as well as Naíma Acuña on the drums.
Compared to Barradas’ first two albums, Directions and Home – An End As A New Beginning, Portrait does not solely rely on Barradas’ own predefined grooves and written compositions or the accordion as the driving force, but leaves a lot of room for improvisation and grants enought space to let every musician and instrument find its crucial role.
João Barradas – Accordion and Midi Accordion

Simon Moullier – Vibraphone
Luca Alemanno – Doublebass
